For my spring break this year I really didn't do very much, I didn't leave the town once. A couple things I did do were, go to gymnastics practice, watch Netflix and you tube at home, and I went to hang out with 4 of my friends. Overall I really did not do very much at all, but I still did enjoy my break because normally I have no free time but over break I had plenty of nothing to do (yes I meant to phrase it that way).
One story that is actually worth telling is that I had the state competition for gymnastics over break.I went to the venue for the meet and my team and warmed up and stretched and got ready to compete. we did the first event which was rings and I did alright but not great. the next event was floor and when were warming up I did my 3rd pass, my back handspring back hand spring back tuck, but the thing was I got really high in my back tuck so I got confused in the air and stopped my rotation, so I put my arms out so I didn't face plant, but my left arm hyper extended pretty bad. I iced the arm for a bit but eventually my coach told me I had to scratch the rest of the meet because of my arm. So for because of this I barely got to compete at state.

State cup 2k16 is where this event took place, my soccer team and I had been doing very well so far in the tournament(I was a starter on defense. We were seeded 7 which meant we had to play the number one team in our first game. Obviously being number one and all they were heavily favored, but that game we play well, we played better then we had In a while we even had the lead at one point, but we ended up settling for a tie, which was fine with us, It majorly improved the chances of us making semis.
We won our next game though the score was close 3-2 I believe. We needed win in our final game to have a realistic chance of moving on. We started the game badly we went down to goals to none, but then we rallied and put three in the back of the net, 3-2 was the score, everything the rode on the fact that we needed to hold on to our lead for the rest of the game so we could advance. They had a breakaway, it was just me between their guy and the goal/goal keeper, if I didn't Make a stop right then chances are our season was over. The guy came at me, he was probably about a foot taller then me and he was the other teams best player. That didn't scare me though all that was in my head is I needed to make a stop. I went at him I made a great tackle, I had done it I had stopped him, but the sequence was not over yet. when I tackled him he fall on me, as I went down with him my hand got trapped under neath my body, and I rolled over all four fingers on my right hand with my entire body weight plus some of his. all for fingers broke and two of them looked disgusting and out of place. As soon as it happened I starting screaming, it was the worst pain I had ever had and probably ever will have in my life. They put me on a golf cart so we could drive to our car, all the while I was screaming and everyone on the other fields were turning to look at me. It took twenty minutes to get to the hospital the whole time I was screaming agony. when they finally got there they gave me pain meds but told me that they couldn't reset the bones their that day, so me and my dad drove an hour and a half to get back to Iowa City so they could set my bones. eventually they put me on anastisia and set the bones. in total in took like ten hours from the injury till the time they place the bones. My team ended up getting second in state and I was a hero. |
